Actor Akash Das Nayak at a street play
They might have chosen engineering as their profession, but working for a good cause is their passion. On the occasion of No Plastic Day this Sunday, engineering students of a premier university, who have formed a group called Kuch Adhure Sapne Hamare (KASH), enacted a street play to create awareness about the need to avoid plastic.
Said Ved, director and script writer of the play, "We have been enacting various plays based on social issues. Our aim was to create an awareness about the hazardous effect of plastic bags." "Street plays can have a major impact on people. So, we decided to enact a play on the theme — Plastic bags: Boon or bane?" said Shilpa Dutta, a member of KASH.
"Last year, we had bagged the first prize at a play competition in IIT Bhubaneswar. Before that, we had performed at IIT Kharagpur and received a very good response. All these have been our inspiration," said Saloni Thakur from the group. Meanwhile, actor Akash Das Nayak, who graced the occasion along with MP Prasanna Patsani and mayor Anant Narayan Jena, was happy to have motivated the students. While the play attracted hundreds of spectators, girls from the audience were keen on getting themselves photographed with Akash. Read More

Those days come as a blessing. Then we usually have large family get-togethers at home. Though the bashes are noisy, it's great fun to attend them.
Wish I could
I would really like to visit a beach in Goa on my perfect Sunday where I'll dig into sumptuous meals, get a sun tan done and shop to my heart's content. I wish, I could make the trip right now. Read More
